The power was back on in East Lansing, Mich., on Saturday.
Host Michigan State made sure of that with three power-play goals en route to a 5-1 non-conference victory over Air Force, one night after the Falcons stormed to a 3-2 overtime win.
Griffin Loughran scored two first-period power-play goals, and the first of Mitchell Lewandowski‘s two goals also came on the man advantage late in the second period.
Sophomore captain Luke Rowe scored for the second night in a row for Air Force. Rowe’s strike came 2:15 after Loughran’s second to make it 2-1, but that was as close as the Falcons (1-1) got the rest of the way.
Senior Alex Schilling made 34 saves for Air Force, which was outshot 39-29.
Michigan State (1-1) went 3 for 6 on the power play, while the Falcons were 0 for 3. The teams combined for 54 minutes of penalties.
